Ghostly Cries of the Lemur

One night, I dreamt about a lemur.  It was an odd-looking greenish creature with a horned nose, nothing like an actual lemur.  For I did not know what a lemur looked like, or had even heard of one.  But upon awakening, the word "lemur" floated in my mind as if in bold typeface. I investigated and discovered this unique mammal, native only to Madagascar.  This is what it sounds like.

Coqui frogs of Waipio Valley

I recorded these frogs while campling in a damp fruit orchard on the Big Island of Hawaii.  For many days, I listened to their cries, and believed they were birds. Someone finally corrected me. Ancestor Song performed by Kerri Blackburn

My good friend Kerri Blackburn sings this song.  We inherit this song from Native American ancestors -- given to me, Kerri and six others during a profound vision quest in the Valley of the Sleeping Bear this past summer.  We don't know the English translation, but it proved to possess healing powers.  The Lighted Bridge tells a story of healing as its main character Charlotte retrieves her memory and sense of self while recovering from an ancient drowning.  This song may appear in future episodes.

The Invasion of Paris

I designed this brief sound collage for my website www.thelightedbridge.com

It would play when the mouse rolled over an image of a French flag floating in the river.  But the flag didn't make the cut.  We took the image and sound off the home page, as it seemed to aurally disrupt the viewing experience.
